Ascension Parish Early Childhood Ready Start partners with early learning centers to provide quality education for young children and "lay the foundation for the future"

Pre-K is not mandatory like K-12 grades. 

• The Ascension Pre-K program offers two settings: a general education classroom and an inclusion classroom. Once a child is determined eligible for the Pre-K program, the child is placed in one of these two classroom settings. There is no option to move from the original classroom placement. Families have access to a choice of excellent early learning centers for Pre-K in our community that utilize the same Frog Street curriculum. This option requires private payment for tuition by the family. Public school pre-K is an optional program and not mandatory.

Returning Families:

• Families who have completed an application online for a different child will already have an account or application on file.  These families must email ascensionearlychildhood@apsb.org and "request a new link for a new child." 
  • Please include in the email:
    • Parent's name and phone number
    • Child's name and date of birth
    • Name of program (public school pre-K, Head Start, or early learning center)
    • Request a new link to apply for a new child for the new academic year 
• Remember families cannot go back to the application to make changes or upload a missing document.
• A new link must be requested and can ONLY be provided by email request
• Email requests at ascensionearlychildhood@apsb.org
